Diversity

The USA flag represents a plethora of people. As a nation, the US has not discriminated against any race or heritage when accepting people onto its territory. When you travel through the US, from state to state, you will encounter different demographics and distributions of people. You may find some areas predominated by one nationality while some areas have an equal distribution of people from several different places.
The USA flag stands for a nation that is made up of people from large countries, small secluded countries, nations in need, and nations that are no longer around. The people that make up the US have such a great variety of languages, cultures and habits that it is difficult to point at a specific, purely American tradition. While there are certain holidays that we celebrate only in the US, the USA is a potluck of all the nationalities and cultures that have migrated to our country over time. This diversity has actually helped us become a group that is accustomed to different traditions and open to new things.
The diverse groups of people that have traveled to the US and merged to create our nation are all proud owners of the USA flag. Our flag signifies our nation’s attitude towards new, unknown and sometimes quite different traditions. Our nation is very open to new things and is welcoming to all types of people out there. The USA flag is something that unifies all these diverse people. The flag stands for all the dissimilar people out there who have chosen to follow the beliefs of the American people and live their lives as Americans. This diversity should be another reason to bring pride to the American people, because we don’t discriminate against things that are new or unknown to us.
